I have to confess that in the last 2-3 years, and after two pregnancies, my personal care, and especially managing to keep my skin radiant, concerns me more every day. For that reason, I have decided to treat myself to skincare treatments as often as I can, setting aside a moment of serenity for myself at the end of the week, with Oxigen, the beauty salon in Barcelona where I go for these “treats” and which I have spoken to you about before.
As I always say, consistency in beauty care gives the best results. I fully trust the expert hands of the team at Oxigen and their proposals; the last treatment I tried was a cabin treatment for the face, by the brand Carita. I was amazed by the result; an absolute luxury that I want to share with you.
The “Le Grand Soin Néomorphose” treatment by Carita renews, refills and regenerates the skin. It is incredible. It combines manual massage, aparatology, and the application of creams to seal the result. The ritual begins with deep breaths and a complimentary face, neck, and shoulder massage. As you will have heard me say before, well-cleansed skin is the first step to correct moisturising; this treatment continues with deep cleansing, followed by a decongesting lymphatic drainage of the face, neck and shoulders, which removes toxins.
After the manual massage, the beauticians move on to aparatology, with an ultrasound peeling that stimulates the synthesis of collagen that our body produces naturally. This treatment also includes a session of phototherapy with LED light to improve the skin’s receptivity. In my case, for my skin type, they recommend blue (calming) and yellow (provides luminosity) light. Before performing the last phase of aparatology, they apply a revitalizing and calming facemask that acts on individual wrinkles with the help of Néomorphose precision pens, specific to the treatment, which conduct galvanic currents, ionizing the active ingredients to act on the deepest layers of the skin.
After another facial massage, they begin a massage with silver thread gloves. I confess that the lifting effect that it has surprised me; it left me with smooth and toned skin. These gloves are magic; they have a triple effect: they stimulate the muscles to correct the oval of the face; they improve microcirculation and stimulate recapilarization, and they foster and multiply the penetration of the active ingredients. According to the Oxigen team, the most important active ingredients are the hyaluronic acid (it smooths out the skin’s surface, retains moisture, has anti-wrinkle effects and reinforces cellular cohesion), helioxine (antioxidant) and rice nutri-peptides, which provide brightness. The result is a face with a relaxed appearance; smooth skin like when you have peacefully slept the hours that you really needed.
The last phase of the treatment is the application of eye contour cream (Soin Regard Combleur Fondamental) and the facial cream Crème Combleur Fondamental, both from Carita. It is the perfect end to a treatment that lasts one hour and 45 minutes, and leaves your skin radiant, ready to self-moisturise over the next few hours.
This was my first time trying a treatment that includes aparatology, and I am delighted with the fantastic results. And needless to say, I am enthusiastic about openly sharing this experience of outer self-care that does wonders for me, because although it might seem like a superficial act, feeling beautiful on the outside, knowing I am looking after myself and that I am not letting myself go, makes me feel secure.
