A while ago I read the article\u00a0\u00a0\u201cLo de \u201cyo soy as\u00ed y no voy a cambiar\u201d es un cuento: la personalidad s\u00ed var\u00eda con los a\u00f1os\u201d<\/em><\/a> [\u201cSaying \u201cthat\u2019s the way I am and I\u2019m not going to change\u201d is a myth: personality does change over time\u201d], and I found it comforting. Today I\u2019d like to share my thoughts on a topic that interests me hugely and that I like to be aware of.<\/p>\n

In Buddhism<\/strong>, it is believed that your acts define you and that it is within your power to change negative dynamics, thoughts and emotions into positive ones. I despair at mental resistance to change<\/strong>. I don\u2019t understand how one can lose the will to question themselves, to change, to improve. I think it is important to not believe that you hold the absolute truth, to know how to look at yourself in the mirror and scrutinise yourself to change what you don\u2019t like, because there is always time, and science corroborates that, according to what I read in the article.<\/p>\n

It is wonderful to discover how malleable we can be at different stages of our life. I consider it a gift that our body gives us the opportunity to grow, evolve and continue learning. The philosophy in which I believe, the constant quest for wellbeing in which I find myself, also requires the mental part of course. Mental flexibility<\/strong> keeps you young and open to the world. Isn\u2019t that nice? Recovering that curious approach children have to continue discovering within yourself and beyond.<\/p>\n
