A little more than two years ago, the wonderful moment I am living now felt light years away: my book “Yoga, un estilo de vida” is now in print. What started out as a good intention grew into a desire, and this desire has now become a reality.
I believe that yoga is part of our essence and moves organically with our body. That is why the book begins with “Despierta tu cuerpo” (Wake up your body), a first chapter to help reconnect with our instincts, become aware of our breath, and discuss how what we eat affects how we feel. During the next 4 chapters, you will find steps that will guide you, if you so wish, towards a state of complete wellbeing. “Cárgate de energía” (Load up on energy), “Descubre la meditación” (Discover meditation), “Los problemas son oportunidades” (Problems are opportunities) and “Contempla tu belleza” (Reflect on your beauty) are the titles that mark out a journey in which I show you the philosophy of yoga, asanas (or postures), diet and beauty. In each chapter, you will gradually learn to practise yoga with a small sequence of postures that evolve and grow until, at the end of the book, you reach a final and comprehensive yoga practice. In an appendix, I have also shared the Sun Salutations from my Ashtanga practice, which I use as warm-up exercises.
Promoting the book is turning out to quite the marathon; it is so much more than just having a jam-packed agenda. Busier than ever, I race from television to radio, and from radio to digital meetings. But I am receiving so much respect and interest in the work that I have invested in this book that the nerves that were pestering me at the beginning of last week have disappeared, and these moments have become moments of pure joy. As my father says, doing something you enjoy is never a chore.
In my last post, I spontaneously shared one of my television appearances. If you enjoyed watching and listening to the conversation, below are a couple of links to the programmes to which I was invited to speak about “Yoga, un estilo de vida”.
